May-June-July: Summer

Check out previous posts here!

Overview

I am at my quarterly retreat with Jesus (in the A/C!) reflecting on these past three months. May, June, & July has been a whirlwind!! I knew it would fly by fast and it has. It was packed tight with major milestones, celebrations, and projects. I love the summertime, especially here in Europe. God’s provision has been in abundance and His preparation perfect. I am grateful for the joy of the Lord that truly was captured in this summer season.

PWOC

I finished out the year with my last two events for InReach at our local ladies Bible study group. I hosted a visit to the Ischia Island for the thermal pools at Poseidon and we had our last watercolor paint night where we painted Birds of Paradise flowers. I have stayed in the InReach position next year and look forward to creating a fun calendar again with my partner, Rose.

Church

We went to the European spring retreat in Spain for Ministry to the Military. The church there in Rota sponsored our stay and I helped lead worship and John worked the sound booth. We booked a ferry across to Barcelona from Rome and drove because it was much cheaper. We toured the La Sagrada Familia Cathedral as a family and stayed in various Airbnb’s along the 12 hour drive to Rota, Spain and back again. We celebrated our 24th Anniversary along the route and it was a beautiful trip where God did such a great work Pentecost weekend!

Family & Home Life

We pushed hard with our last bit of school that ended with a Graduation ceremony for Nathanael. I am so proud of the kids. We enjoyed some hiking, beach time, visit from friends passing through from VA, Tirzah’s 8th birthday, and our first Italian wedding of the friend and daughter of my landlord. We even got to host old friends from WA and new friends from Oregon. We love to host!

Family trip to Greece & Italy

We had a family reunion that began here in Italy and then we all traveled to Greece for a sailing trip. When my children turn 18 and graduate from high school, they get a senior trip. My son requested to sail as a family and he was surprised to find that the whole family came on my husband’s side! We had such a glorious time on a trip of a lifetime and we miss them already so much. Living far away from the family you love is hard even if you choose it.

Switzerland Work trip

Switzerland was beautiful but we didn’t actually see much of it. We only spent 1 day off at a lake in the mountains in the middle and 9 days working from sunup to sundown with bookends of two days driving there and back. We picked up Lauretta from her 10 day work trip to Belgium as a mom helper on the way. Even Ravenna came with us. We left to Switzerland with a broken gold van and came back with an upgraded black van. The Lord miraculous provided and dropped it into our lap like He does. This trip was one of the main reasons we came to Europe, to establish teams for Freedom Encounters that help set people free!

The bees & Italian Flora

We are still recovering from going so much these months but have to get back to work, especially with the bees. The Worker Bee Podcast had been paused but it is time to get the last three podcasts edited and posted. We are finishing our second year here in Italy. I am excited to see what God has planned next for the Moriarty’s on mission!

How you can pray for us!

Family- John and I are trying to play catch up with a long list of to dos. We are also praying seriously about the next steps for our family. We need wisdom! Nathanael starts football in a week and needs to finish chemistry & math out by the end of the semester to move into the next season of his life as an adult. Lauretta and I will be traveling some more together this fall. Please pray for protection and endurance! Miriam and Tirzah start school with daddy again and they are looking forward to seeing their friends at CC. Sara and Maggie begin another year of college and work, independent from us. I miss my peeps!

FE- I have a conference in Canada in September where I will assist in training and coaching. My goal is to finish the VOSC book by then. Please pray that I rest in God’s timing and have patience with myself. I will get to spend two weeks with my best friend and co-host, Kate McBride at the conference as she finishes her training as well. Prayers that we both listen to God’s voice and rest in Him.

WBP & the Bees- We need to do a fall harvesting of honey for the first time and we don’t know what we are doing. Please pray for us to learn it all easily! I also need to wrap up the second season of the Worker Bee Podcast and get a vision for the third season during the fall feasts.

CT4C- I have not been teaching much online but I have started a watercolor series through my website locally to help me earn some cash to pay the bills for our LLC. Prayers for vision and direction and success with this paint class series.

PWOC- I begin the fall season with PWOC in August as we make a year plan for In Reach and I get to be on the worship team again too. Please pray that I can bless this community in whatever way God would like me to. It is an honor and time commitment that I do not take lightly.

OCN- I got to minister on the street for the first time to the prostitutes and share the good news of Jesus and pray with them. It was amazing! I look forward to these next weeks of ministry as well.

Church- We are waiting to get into the building that Bethel Worship Center will be hosted in, hopefully in September but it could be October. John and I need to do a trip to pick up sound equipment and it will be a lot of work to get the building set up and church going regularly in a larger space. We are excited to grow in leading worship and help Pastors Jack and Pat Brundage establish the church. It is not an easy task to plant a church!

Thank you for your financial support and prayers!
